The 2014 Buick LaCrosse once again has earned a 5-star Overall Vehicle Score in the New Car Assessment Program of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). It’s the 10th consecutive year that the LaCrosse has achieved the top overall rating in NHTSA’s safety testing, and this year the car earned 5 stars in evaluations for both frontal- and side-crash occupant protection, as well as 4 stars for rollover protection.

Among the key enablers of this kind of safety performance are:

  • Eight standard airbags, including rear-seat thorax units
  • GM’s Safety Alert Seat, which provides directional, vibrating alerts regarding potential crash threats
  • Forward collision alert
  • Full-speed-range adaptive cruise control
  • Lane departure warning
  • Lane change alert
  • Side blind-zone alert
  • Rear cross-traffic alert
  • A rear-vision camera
  • Six months of OnStar service (standard)

Said Jeff Yanssens, chief engineer of the 2014 Buick LaCrosse: “Safety is one of the pillars of the Buick brand and our flagship continues to echo this essential element to our customers. Not only do we offer advanced safety technologies in the 2014 LaCrosse, but we designed and engineered the core of the car to perform well with respect to crash safety.”

The 2014 Buick LaCrosse is on sale now from $33,135.
