Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: The engine (and constantly being surprised by discovering pleasant amenities)
Cons: Initially the exhaust note was too shrill, but it grew on me and now I like it.
Advice: Negotiate a good price -- there are plenty of them out there now.BMW did everything right with this vehicle. My M3 corners like it's got Audi's quattro AWD, accelerates just as well as a Porsche 911, looks classy, and has room for four. Despite not getting a 100 for comfort, it's still very comfortable on road trips or in the city, and more comfortable than any other sports car I've driven. The 19' wheels look incredible and provide great cornering, but the ride might be too jarring for some. Get the 18s if you want a softer ride. Unlike in most cars with a sport button, this one really does make a difference. Some complain about the HK sounds system, but I think it sounds good. If you can afford it and you like to rev the engine to get your power (unlike in a larger displacement V-8), get this vehicle. It has, no kidding, supercar performance with practicality.
Pros: SPORT Button
Cons: Audio system is average at best.
Advice: This car is fantastic. It is not very practical for commuting in city traffic. It really excels on mountain roads and twisty canyons.I have 7,000 miles on my e46 M3 coupe. IT has performed flawlessly. Build quality is excellent and fit and finish is top notch. When you hit the SPORT button and get the car over 5,000 RPM's the car takes off like a rocket. Tremendous grip and excellent steering make it a joy to drive. Position of 6-speed shifter and pedals is perfect. The M3 coupe is a precision driving machine that holds the road at any speed. You can cruise at 120-mph and the car is rock steady.
Pros: Strong Engin (Horse Power)
Cons: Keep it clean
Advice: Please buy this car. If you can afford it.This car is a monster. It fast and road handling is outstanding. Highway gas and City gas is not that bad. I recommend to all buyers.
Pros: SMG (seperates me from you)
Cons: Having to keep it clean...
Advice: buy a used one and save a buck or half of one.It is the most amazing feeling you can experience on 4 wheels! The car glides as if it were a locamotive on ice, truly the most responsive vehicle I have ever driven.
Pros: Engines performance and sound.
Cons: No spare tire
Advice: Test drive one in the twisties. After 4200 mi., the best car I have ever owned. It is fast, handles great, brakes are great, awesome looking car. The best part is I can take my family of four out for a ride together. This car is the ultimate driving machine. I waited over a year to buy it at MSRP, but it was worth the wait. Warning! This car teases you to drive it harder and faster, know your limitations. The ride quality is a good compromise between comfort and sports car firmness. It is my weekend driver, only regret is I wish I could use it every day, but it is not a substitute for a work truck.
Pros: The sound of the engine under hard acceleration, out of this world!
Cons: Not having ordered the park distance control
Advice: Don't hesitate, it's an experience.A bargain... don't waste your money on a Ferrari or a Porsche when this is a supercar which is also crammed with luxuries. Previously owned an (automatic) 325is then a (manual) 330ci and this is completely different. Drives like a kitten in the city but is a wild animal -- which can be easily controlled -- on the open road. The sound of the engine as you scream into a tunnel on-ramp is unbelieveable and just has to be heard. I love driving every mile in this car.
Pros: SMG gear box
Cons: interior, dont pay extra for the HK sound, not worth it
Advice: get SMG,this car reminds me when I drove a GoCart for the first time. Fun! Fun! Fun!, Especially with the SMG paddles, it's Grand Tourismo 2 in real life.
