    2012 BMW X6 - xDrive50i

Pure fun! I love my car. Great looks and performance to boot. It goes fast when I want and still has the all of the comfort of a BMW. I love the aggressive good looks and the higher stance. One thing I'd like to see improved is the entertainment system.

    2008 BMW X3

    An expensive mistake

    Pros: Interior

    Cons: reliability

It would take a month of Sundays to list what did go wrong with this car. When it works it's great..

    2006 BMW X3

    Great Vehicle

    Pros: Miles per Gallon

Cons: It sports the same steering wheel and controls as my old 1999 528i. In seven years they can't upgrade or improve?

The X3 is comfortable, roomy in the front, and a great driver. I have read reports that the ride is harsh, but I don't feel it is bad at all. Steering is tight and responsive and the ride is what is expected from a small SUV. It is more a utility vehicle than luxury, but fit and finish is nice. Excellent gas mileage for it's class. I get as much as 27 on the highway, but average between 24 - 26. All around averaging 19-21. Can't beat that for the power it has from the 3.0l.

    2004 BMW X3

    Best All-Around Sporty Family Vehicle

Pros: the combo of comfort, practicality and sportiness

Cons: in more remote areas had problems finding the premium+ fuel I preferred

I've owned some vehicles that I really appreciated and enjoyed, but my X3 2.5i beat all the others by a mile! I did a mixture of mostly rural-and-suburban driving, with an occasional ('bout twice-or-thrice a month) foray into urban driving, and *averaged* about 22-23 mpg. When I went on trips I could count on 25-26 mpg! I took a long trip out west to the Rockies in the summer of '06 and found that my X3 *loved* high-altitudes combined with temps around 90F. -- average mpg: 28, *and* had passing power on the up-grades!

    2010 BMW 535 Gran Turismo

Really good alternative to the 7 series

Pros: The improved i-drive is great

Cons: The car is not as quiet as the 7 series

I turned in my 2007 LI looking for a lower cost BMW and settled on this car. I use it with my wife on trips and wanted the carrying capacity of 60 Cubic feet, as I always liked the LIs trunk and wide back seat for use on trips. Also wanted the latest instrumentation. Plus I was trying to replicate that feeling of the 7 series luxury cockpit...this was very close. I had a 7 series with sport suspension, and my GT is also a sports model, but although I like the added maneuverability in the city, the GT is no match for the 7 series on the road in high speed driving..

    2005 BMW X5

    Not worth the price

Pros: The car feels very safe and solid.

    Cons: Repairs are too expensive

Very expensive for what you get. The car drives well and feels very safe. Rides like a truck. Needed more repairs than I thought necessary both during the warranty period and after the warranty was up. The trim became cloudy and looked worn out before its time. The drivetrain is well built but the windows, door handles, and interior trim panels all show many signs of aging, which I did not expect in such a costly vehicle.

    2011 BMW 528

2011 528i Great balance and power!

    Pros: Car quality

    Cons: nothing

Absolutey hands down best of its class. I have owned many fast sport cars and fast sedans. But have to say for the money the 2011 528i has the power, handles great and gives you the luxury you expect in this class. Seat of the pants feel is great. The ZF transmission makes the best out of a strong, exceptional engine, the powerband is perfect. Also I payed much less than the $48k sticker with premium package which gives you leather and luxury comforts, Metalic paint and satelite radio with USB. Thats makes for a very refined car for the money. BTW my other cars were 911's, Viper, M3, E500 Rentech, 745i, 750i, 535i twin turbo. Of course were just getting out of a recession now. But I'm not settling, I could have bought the single turbo 535i didn't feel the difference was warranted and the E 350 was not as sporty or as roomy. The BMW 2011 528i makes sense all the time. You can push it to it's limit or pull up to any valet at any resort. It's a drivers car with luxury!
