    2011 BMW 335 - is RWD Convertible

It's a hard top convertible. with the M-Sport pkg. In the iS it has a performance oriented firm ride, which makes for sometimes a jarring ride. (south-eastern PA roads) RFT tires don't add any suppleness to the suspension either. BUT, this is the most fun to drive, best looking (inside or out), best performing vehicle I have ever owned. Ultimate Driving Machine? You Bet! Oh, by the way, it has averaged 22.5 MPG in 20,000 miles of mainly suburban driving. The N-54 engine is sweet & powerful.

    Who needs an M3

    Pros: the turbo motor

Cons: I haven't found anything not to like

The 335i with the sport and premium packages and the six speed manual is quite the BMW hot rod. In my opinion, the 335i coupe has the best styling, handling and performance. I believe that this is a modern BMW classic.

    Worst Bimmer I've had

    Pros: handles well

    Cons: electrical system

This car has had major electrical problems. On seemingly random occasions, the headlights have turned on while the car has been parked, draining the battery and necessitating a jump start. I've taken the car to BMW dealer many times, and communicated w/ BMW customer relations. THey've told me the car is performaing normally and the only problem they've found is the lights have been left on! However, I never leave the lights on and normally they turn off when the ignition is turned off. Watch out!

    A Driver's Car

Pros: Manual transmission with 300hp twin turbo and sports package.

    Cons: RFTs

Excellent handling with comfort. RFT's degrade handling and comfort minimally, will most likely replace with regular tires.

Is this what we pay fifty large for?

Pros: The seamless connectivity of all parts of the driving experience.

Cons: The high cost of admission

$50,000 seems like an awful lot of money for a car that doesn't do most of the things one traditionally associates with a daily driver particularly well. It doesn't hold kids and their things in comfort with DVD players and storage bins and cupholders. It doesn't carry a 4' X 8' sheet of plywood. It doesn't even haul groceries very well...BUT, the trip to school, the big box store or the grocery is one incredibly sweet ride for the person lucky enough to be the daily driver. On the rare occasion when you can find a road that will let you go and stop with enthusiasm, you will never find a car that is more subtley rewarding to make go and stop than the BMW 335 coupe with a manual transmission. The reward is immediate. The car is the automobile equivalent of some of the great harmonious, synchronized teams in history; the grace of Astaire and Rogers, the perfect pitch of k.d. Lang, the speed, power and athleticism of the Michael Jordan-era Chicago Bulls...it all works together. The daily driver gets the reward. But you always need to ask yourself whether the occasional satisfaction of an open road and a very satisfying car is worth the 50 large cost of admission. I can't help but believe that 2 VW GTI's would offer almost the equivalent driving satisfaction and make me feel a lot better about having spent my $50,000 more wisely.

    2007 BMW 335 - RWD Sedan

    Pros: the look

Cons: getting car sick driving it

Advice: take a long test drive

2007 BMW 335I, SEDAN 4 DR, 3.0L L6 FI DOHC 24V, Bridgestone 18' low pro run flats. My first year has been filled with -Jerkiness when starting from a stopped position, or when geared down to corner -Lunging forward when braking. Very strong, pronounced downshifting - even at slower speeds -Harsh shifting between gears -iDrive frequently shutting down for no reason. -Low pro tires: side walls worn out after 15k miles (no refund offered)
