Infiniti has found the perfect way to help get buyers acclimated to its new naming convention: Offer special introductory pricing—and a $900 price reduction—on the first vehicle to debut with the new nomenclature, the 2014 Infiniti Q50. The sport sedan will take over from the 2013 Infiniti G as the entry model in the brand’s lineup beginning in June, and it will launch with an MSRP of $36,450 that is a full $900 less than the starting sticker price on the vehicle it replaces. Similarly, the 2014 Infiniti Q50 with all-wheel drive will open at $38,250, representing $700 in savings as compared to the least-expensive 2013 G sedan with AWD.

On the other hand, potential customers can rest assured that the only place they’ll notice this new pricing is when they look at the bottom line. Regardless of its MSRP, the sophisticated new Q50 will continue to extend Infiniti’s reputation for attention to detail, customer service, and premium performance. Just ask Ben Poore, vice president, Infiniti Americas.

“True to the Infiniti DNA, our hybrid powertrains put performance first, without compromising fuel efficiency,” according to Johan de Nysschen, Infiniti’s president. “It takes full advantage of the electric motor's instant torque for exceptional acceleration and, in combination with the 3.5-liter V6, provides a sporty driving feel under all driving conditions. We have targeted the best balance of performance and fuel economy and hit it dead center.”
