The LT1 is back, and it’s packing a punch. Mounted up front is a 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces 450 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. This is a direct-injection unit that should boast acceptable fuel economy while delivering a potent roar.
The engine is paired with either a seven-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed paddle-shiftable automatic. The manual gearbox boasts a rev match feature to perfectly peel off crisp downshifts.

Just as the styling has gone modern, so have the features and amenities offered up on the new Stingray Convertible. Should you want to stow the top remotely, you can do so using the key fob. If you’re in the car driving, it can be lowered at speeds of up to 30 miles per hour. In the center you have an eight-inch configurable infotainment screen, and the entire driving experience can be altered by way of the five-position Drive Mode Selector.
Beyond the tech you can play with, the Corvette utilizes a slew of lightweight materials to drop pounds while increasing stiffness. This is a perfect double-whammy that returns an improved experience for those getting behind the wheel.

We were already excited to see the coupe revealed in Detroit, and now we’re dreaming of running down the California coast with the Stingray Convertible.
