Hyundai’s showing at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show was the very wild HCD-14 Genesis Concept. The overall look of the HCD-14 Genesis looks to be a modern interpretation of a thirties luxury sedan. Starting up front, the HCD-14 Genesis has an almost vertical front end and a large, imposing grille. Along the side, Hyundai designers made sure the lines along the body panels flowed without any disturbance. The side also features the unique coupe-like roof and clamshell doors. Inside, the HCD-14 Genesis features many luxury appointments and technologies including an eye tracking system that responds to your eye and hand gestures to control certain functions of the vehicle. Hyundai has pumped up the driving dynamics of the HCD-14 Genesis Concept by installing a 5.0L Tau V8 producing 429 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque and an eight-speed automatic. There is also a rigid chassis, multi-link suspension setup, and driver-selectable settings to change the behavior of the vehicle in varying conditions. Autobytel’s Editor-in-Chief, Michelle Naranjo, gets a first look at this very daring concept by Hyundai's Product Public Relations Manager Derek Joyce.
