New 2014 Volkswagen Touareg R-Line: What’s Under the Hood
The 2014 Touareg R-Line is equipped with a standard 3.6-liter V-6 engine generating 280 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 266 lb.-ft. of torque at 2,500 rpm. Optionally, the R-Line can be equipped with a turbocharged 3.0-liter Clean Diesel V-6 generating 240 horsepower at 4,000 rpm and 406 lb.-ft. of torque at just 2,000 rpm.
Both Touaregs are equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission and 4Motion permanent 4-wheel-drive with a Torsen center differential and adaptive torque distribution. What makes the Touareg R-Line worthy of the appellation is, apparently, its sport-tuned suspension.
