Recalls
This week, General Motors and Chrysler announced recalls that might affect you. GM is recalling 400,000 pickup trucks to repair brake lights that may fail to illuminate or will always remain illuminated, making it very difficult for motorists following behind the truck to determine when it is slowing down. Affected models include the 2004, 2005, and 2006 Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, and Isuzu i-Series. The problem can also render the cruise control inoperative.Chrysler recalled several popular sedans, wagons, and Jeeps this week. 45,000 Chrysler 300s, Dodge Chargers, and Dodge Magnums must go back to the dealer for repairs to correct a leaking brake fluid problem that could cause an engine compartment fire. The recall affects only 2006 model year vehicles equipped with the base 2.7-liter V6 engine. Another 7,000 vehicles, this time 2006 Jeep Wranglers with a six-speed manual transmission, are being recalled for clutch repairs.
