After a record-breaking fifth consecutive year of upward-trending sales, November was a relatively modest month for Subaru. By 'modest', we mean a 29.8 percent increase in sales, to 36,621 vehicles. Total sales for the year stand at 384,511 vehicles.
The Forester had a record-setting month with 13,410 vehicles sold in November, an increase of 135.1 percent. Subaru also sold the one millionth Forester in November. Not bad for a model that was first introduced back in 1997.
"Coming off its recent MotorTrend 2014 Sport/Utility Vehicle of the Year award, Forester continues to show why it was a successful redesign. The Forester's strong momentum carried into November as an all-time monthly sales record was set for the SUV. Through November, nearly 60% of our buyers are new to Subaru, more and more people continue to embrace the brand," said Bill Cyphers, senior vice president of sales for Subaru of America, Inc.
Also having a record-setting month was the XV Crosstrek. Subaru moved 5,311 vehicles in November, representing a 157.8 percent increase. Yearly sales for the XV Crosstrek rose 1,109.3 percent to 48,216 vehicles.
