You know you’re doing something right in the automotive industry when in your press release for March sales, you announce that this is your 27th consecutive month of record sales and this is your second-best month in sales. Well Audi is that automaker who made those announcements this week and it's easy to see why they can say that. For the month of March, Audi sold 13,253 vehicles; an increase of 14.4 percent. The big sellers for Audi were the A4 family (3,951 vehicles sold) and the Q5 (3,099 vehicles sold). The Q7 seven-seat SUV takes the crown as the model who saw the biggest increase in sales with 52.5 percent rise in sales for March 2013 when compared to the same month in 2012.
Possibly the biggest surprise in Audi’s sales release was how many vehicles saw massive increase in their overall yearly sales. Four Audi vehicles; the A6, A8, Q5, and Q7 all saw increases of over 20 percent during the month of March. “Demand remains extremely strong for our most luxurious and our most popular premium models. All signs point to sustained growth in the months ahead as Audi works towards a target goal of 150,000 vehicles sold in the U.S. this year,” said Mark Del Rosso, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Audi of America.
