While 193,715 units sold for the month isn't something for Ford to scoff at, they were just 321 units shy of tying with Toyota for second place in overall sales for the month. Compared to last July, sales climbed 11.4 percent. This also happens to be Ford's best July in terms of sales since 2005.
Not surprisingly, the F-Series was the big seller with 60,449 units sold for the month. This happens to be the 24th consecutive month of year-over-year sales increases. Meanwhile, the Ford Fiesta saw the largest increase for the brand with 88.9 percent for the month. Disappointingly, the Ford Mustang saw its sales drop 21.7 percent for the month.
July wasn't a good month for Lincoln either. You can tell Lincoln had a bad month when Ford doesn't make any mention of the brand anywhere in the press release. The brand posted sales of 6,919 units, a decrease of 0.8 percent.
