The Grand Prix of Long Beach is one of the oldest running street races in the United States. With classes ranging from open wheel IndyCars to a grid filled with Pro/Celebrity Scion FR-S racecars. Since the first Grand Prix back in 1975, the Long Beach Grand Prix has established itself as a weekend filled with motorsport excitement.

One of the biggest highlights of the weekend is watching professional racers go toe to toe with celebrities racing in spec Scion FR-S racecars. The Pro/Celebrity FR-S is not that far removed from its road-going brethren. Aside from a TRD tuned suspension, brakes and much gripper tires; the only content in the colorful FR-S racers you can't purchase in a Scion showroom is the required safety equipment.

Even though the Scions are some of the least powerful cars on track all weekend, there is no lack of excitement when you put that many celebrities into a 10-lap competition.

Someone should have reminded top-fuel drag racer Antron Brown that this is all for charity.

Being the professional that he is, Brown was not one to give up, and kept lapping the injured FR-S around the Long Beach street circuit.

When the celebrities start to act-up, it is time for officials to get involved and bring them back in line.

At the end of 10 laps, it was the “Fresh Prince’s” own Alfonso Ribiero who finished first. Photographers dived on the race winner even before the car had been brought to a halt.

Once outside the racecar, Ribiero played it up for the cameras, stopping just short of doing “the Carlton”.

Another fun thing to do at the Grand Prix is to take a selfie with your favorite racing legend. Here we see four time Long Beach GP winner Mario Andretti taking some time out for the fans.

Aside from celebrities going around in circles, the weekend also consists of top-tier closed-wheel racing, ranging from the Tudor United sports car Championship to the Pirelli World Challenge.
