Since the Ford F-150 Raptor arrived a few years ago, those who are loyal to either Ram or Chevrolet have had to sit back and watch in jealousy as Raptor owners bound across sand dunes with a big grin on their face. In attempt to keep pace, last year Ram offered a package that gives owners their take on the Raptor formula. That left Chevrolet as the odd one out with no competitor to the Raptor. Until now.
Lingenfelter, the well-known tuner of the Chevrolet Corvette and other GM products, has teamed up with Southern Comfort Automotive to created the Chevrolet Reaper. Starting with the Chevrolet Silverado as a base, the two added an aggressive front fascia along with a set skid plates and new bumpers. Under the skin, they fitted the truck with a Corsa exhaust system and a Fox off-road suspension setup. To finish it off, they upgraded the wheels to a set of 20-inch wheels wrapped in meaty 33-inch off-road tires.
The options list includes additional goodies as a Raptor-esque graphics package, 17-inch beadlocked wheels, and a supercharger and other engine modifications from Lingenfelter.
You can purchase the Chevrolet Reaper at select Chevrolet dealers. No word yet on when you'll be able to place an order for one though.
