The highlight of the day was the Santa Fe, but there are a few interesting details to share pertaining to the Talus. Underneath the bold styling is an optional four-wheel-drive system and works with generous ground clearance to a driver and three passengers off the beaten path. Well, theoretically at least, since this concept is probably worth millions and won’t even be home to a fleck of dust. Too bad, considering how much fun it would be to dip into the 4.6-liter V8 under the hood. Other features found on the Talus are meaty 22-inch wheels and tires, front fog lights, dual exhaust tips, a retractable LCD monitor in the front console, a clock displaying the time for three different time zones, and rear DVD monitors with their own dedicated audio controls. Sierra Brown and Black Chestnut leather covers the interior, which fits well with the metallic accents found throughout. As an added bonus, Hyundai engineers have outfitted the Talus with a night vision system, wireless internet access, a shift-by-wire six-speed automatic transmission, and electronic stability control.
