Fisker Avoids Bad Justin Bieber “Karma” by Hiring Leonardo DiCaprio as Celebrity Spokesperson

Truly, we live in a world gone mad. Every day we are bombarded with disturbing media tales wherein people turn into flesh eating zombies after allegedly inhaling too many bath salts or more recently all anyone is talking about is celebrity secret agent Katie Holmes who apparently starred in her own “Mission Impossible” movie while trying to escape from her soon to be ex-husband Tom Cruise.

Start-up luxury green automaker Fisker knows all too well how fickle and tempestuous media attention can be given some of the PR hiccups that the brand has suffered on its way to full-fledged production of its uber-sexy Karma sedan. Sure, there have been scandals about funding, intellectual property rights but none was more damaging to this car’s hipster cache than one very famous owner with even more famous hair—the one and only Justin Bieber.

To our way of thinking it is even more disturbing than the notion of zombies to realize that a 15 year old Canadian with a soccer mom’s haircut could become a multi-millionaire just by singing one song where he repeats the word “Baby” so many times it makes you want to eat your own flesh. So, when Mr. Bieber recently turned 18 and graduated from “High School” he was rewarded with a brand new Fisker Karma which was an event that did not go unreported in the mainstream media. Perhaps they should have focused more on “The Beebs” (Justin’s nickname) saying at the time how much he hated “reading and writing” and that he was glad that was all behind him. Lord knows how rarely anyone needs to read or write after High School.

Justin Bieber still continues to be associated far too closely with this brand and car being that even very recently he was pulled over by the cops in his Karma for speeding and tried to blame it on the paparazzi chasing him. Yeah, who hasn’t tried that one with a traffic cop? Well, Fisker decided to take matters into its own hands and sought out the aid of a talented ex-teen heartthrob in the form of Leonardo DiCaprio.

Not only has Mr. DiCaprio signed on as a celebrity marketing spokesman but he is also now an equity investor in the company and both hope to work on future green sustainability projects. Now that’s a celebrity who is putting his money where his mouth is and just for the record Mr. DiCaprio also drives a Fisker Karma. So if you buy one, be sure to tell your friends that and not that you have the same car as “The Beebs.”
