2014 Audi RS 7 First Drive Video Review

When your car looks like this one does, and offers a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 producing 560 horsepower and 516 ft-lbs of torque, an eight-speed automatic transmission with manual shifting, as well as all-wheel drive; one can confidently predict the desirability of the machine. And so it is with the Audi RS 7 ultra high performance luxury sedan. With a quoted zero to 60 of 3.4 seconds, Audi’s hot four-door will actually out-accelerate its R8 V10 supercar. That it will do so while providing seating for four, along with palatial luxury features, outstanding handling, and a comfortable ride, well it’s almost surreal. Oh, by the way, if you feather the throttle, you can even convince the RS 7 to return some 19 miles per gallon. Yes, all sorts of cars top that figure, however none of them have the power, grace, beauty and style of Audi’s sleek four-door coupe. So, how does the Audi manage to accomplish all of these magnificent feats? An adaptive air-suspension system gets tough when it needs to, and cossets when you want it to. The Audi’s dynamic steering system delivers accuracy at high speeds, and maneuvering ease at low speeds. The all-wheel drive system features a locking center differential and sport rear differential to ensure the engine’s power is delivered to the wheel(s) with the most traction in any given circumstance. Long story short, the Audi RS 7 is more than just a pretty car—it’s a pretty extraordinary car.
