2002 Audi A4 - 3.0 (A5) quattro Sedan
Pros: Drive train.
Cons: Could use a little wider leg well.
Advice: I'm glad I got the 6 cylinder. But you'll save a bundle if you can live with the 1.8T.
I went without the sport package. I was willing to sacrifice a little handling performance for a slightly smoother ride and all season tires. I heard this year's regular suspension is roughly what last year's sport suspension was anyway. A vey well finished interior. I thought it was much nicer than the BMW 3 series. Very contemporary exterior with a lot of class. Somewhat understated at first glance but then you begin to notice the trim. Nice sound system. Great power at all speeds. Tiptronic is nice on a long grade to select the gear you want. But I use the auto sport mode if I'm winding through tight curves on a back road. Great buy. -
2002 Audi S8 - Base
Pros: Engine
Cons: GPS system does not work well
Advice: Buy now
Strong, but subtle, a 'velvet hammer'. Got the black one. Best car on the road. Understated and unknown, but incredible performance. I have owned BMWs, Mercedes and this car. BMWs 740 feels like a slug compared to this. A German banker/speedfreak's dream. Seats so comfortable, they feel like someone is 'cupping your buttcheeks'. -
2002 Audi A4 - T (M5) quattro Sedan
Pros: SELF ADJUSTING XENON HEADLIGHTS- turn on the car and watch them wink!!
Cons: WINDSHIELD WIPERS-retains water that sprays water after wiping clean. Way too slow also. This is the only disappointing aspect of the vehicle.
Advice: Consider the warranty!!!! 4 years-50,000. Could add up to thousands more in savings over other vehicles.
I've owned this car for about 2 months and i have nothing but good things to say about it. I've accrued 3400 miles to date. Handling is excellent with the sport package and the car (1.8 T Polar White/Ebony) has more than enough power with two exceptions. With the A/C on or a full load of passengers/cargo it's a bit sluggish off the line but once the car gets moving you can pass with the best of them. Even if the car isn't lightning fast it sure looks it. Last fri nite, i was driving thru Times Square and the guy next to me asked my how many horsepower it had. Needless to say the guy was behind the wheel of a Viper and he was checking my car out. Enough said. Final word: best value for your hard earned dollar. -
2002 Audi A4 - 3.0 (M6) quattro Sedan
Pros: Quattro all wheel drive
Cons: Front end styling
Advice: Those thinking of BMW 3-series or Mercedes C-Class should definitely try the Audi A4
When compared with the BMW 3-series and Mercedes C Class, the Audi A4 3.0 really outperformed them. It handles well on curves and cruises wonderfully on the open highway. Definitely a treat to drive. -
2002 Audi TT - FWD Roadster
Pros: Ball glove interior
Cons: Turbo lag off the line
Advice: Make sure you can live with only 2 seats.
A pure joy to drive with unique styling inside and out. The optional ball glove interior adds to the special interior. The trunk in the 180 is the largest in its class, so this car is a real long distance cruiser. -
2002 Audi S8 - Base
Pros: all wheel drive
Cons: the small glove compartment
Advice: Get the black one
I have owned the BMW 740, 540 and driven the Mercedes S500 and Jag XKR. This car outclasses them all. It will knock you back in the seats will incredible torche and never lose traction. The control is flawless. The interior is as luxurious as any car can be with a sound system that will impress. I love this car, it is the best car I have ever owned, the 2002 S8. -
2002 Audi S6 - Base
Pros: The famous Audi quattro all wheel drive system
Cons: No spot for a phone. Get the telematic package
Advice: Look hard. Only 100 per month are sent over here
I was making the transition from SUV to sedan but still wanted all wheel drive and needed a little extra storage. While the term 'station wagon' brought 1960's visions to mind, the Avant, as they call them in Europe, is a far cry from your father's Chevy Caprice Wagon. It is, by far, the finest automobile I have ever owned. And the 340 hp engine is awesome. All the bells and whistles, superior fit and finish, better handling package than it's big brother A6 4.2. The 'Recaro' seats provide great support, the Bose system is remarkable. Poweer everything including tilt and telescope. If you want understand elegance and performance (keep in mind, 40 more horsepower than a Porsche 911), superior handling and safety, this is the vehicle for you! jpscatena@t-one.net
