Audi adds a new Q5 TDI model equipped with a turbo-diesel engine, while the standard turbocharged 2.0-liter engine’s horsepower rating rises to 220. New for 2014, the Q5 TDI Clean Diesel features a turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel V-6 capable of whipping up 240 horsepower and a wallop of torque, producing acceleration to 60 mph in just 6.5 seconds.
Buyers looking to maximize fuel economy should check out the Q5 Hybrid. Equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, an electric assist motor, and a lithium-ion battery, this hybrid makes a total of 245 horsepower and can get the Q5 Hybrid from a standstill to 60 mph in 6.8 seconds.
Fuel Economy Ratings:
The EPA states that the 2014 Audi Q5 2.0T gets 23 mpg in combined driving, while the Q5 3.0T returns 21 mpg. The new Q5 TDI should go 27 miles on every gallon of gas, and the Q5 Hybrid is rated to provide 26 mpg in combined driving.
