Pros: Audi logo
Cons: size of car
Advice: go for lexus ES330powerful considering it is V4 and only 200hp. VERY good fuel economy. The dash board is rather complicate with the full options. There were some functions that are not really necessary. Kinda overrated but still nice car.
Pros: styling, interior, Quattro!!
Cons: parking brake lever right under the center console
Advice: get the 6 speed manual and the Quattro... a great combinationWhat an excellent car. The exterior styling is sharp, elegant, yet sporty. The interior is elegant with very clean lines, unlike the BMW & Volvo. I like the fact that the controls are uncluttered and centrally located easily within reach. A 6-speed manual with Quattro is truly a fun to drive car.
Pros: Looks, road grip.
Cons: Poor quality for a 33k car
Advice: Do not buy, buy japanese or american. European cars have a 'halo' of quality that is not real. What a mistake. I was in love w/ the car at first, until i had problems with the engine only 2 weeks after I bough it! Then a head lamp went out 3 months after that, air bag sign came on, and now the storage bin compartment has problems closing. That is only in 10 months of ownership. DO NOT BUY THIS VEHICLE. Looks are deceiving. Poor quality everything rattles and shakes.
Pros: Overall build quality and new style.
Cons: Low torque on acceleration ... but once it 'kicks in' look out.
Advice: The Premium package is worth it.Purchased the new 2005.5 Audi4 2.0 Turbo 200HP this week (Premium upgrade and Sport Package). After 250 miles my first impression is very positive. I was in the market for a soft top and test drove the A4 2005 ... but was captured by the 2005.5 sedan in the showroom. Interior appointments are impressive, as is overalll build (Audi quality). Most impressive is the acceleration for a 4 cylinder turbo. A 6 cylinder is not needed. Gas mileage is excellent. Even driving in Sport Mode, the gas mileage is good ... and the car is nimble. New 2205.5 styling adds to the mix. Tail lights are sharp and new front end puts it in line with similar competitors. Overall, very pleased.
Cons: the car
Advice: Don't buy it but if you do only lease it and keep your lease only as long as the warrantyThis car has a problem with starting. I pray every time i shut it off that it will start back up. I have had it towed to the shop 6 times. Yes that is six times it left me stranded on the road or somewhere besides home. Audi says is keeps losing memory and does not recognize the key. Well thats a big problem, when I want to get home. Also the products they use on the window switches and so on has a great feel but it starts wearing off in about a year. So now i'm left with switches and buttons with white showing through the black rubber they coat them with. At night it looks even worse because the ambient light comes through all these wore out spots. I have also had the passanger side seat airbag just deploy out of no reason. That was a little scary so it took audi 4 weeks to order a whole new seat and in the mean time they told me it was drivable so I had to drive a car around with this big white airbag sticking out of the seat. It also has had the huge problem the has plagued volkswagon and Audi with the engine oil sluge problem. That required the whole engine to be replaced as well. That still did not fix the starting problem...I'm and glad I leased the car and my lease is up in September. In the mean time I bought another car a Bmw and that has been the best car. I just feel sorry for the poor sole that is going to buy my audi after it goes to auction at that time it will be out of warranty and that car should be destroyed and not resold.
Pros: The impressive acceleration.
Cons: The cabin is snug for someone over 6 feet
Advice: Shop around for your best price. We did and good a great deal!We purchased a new 2005.5 2.0 Audi A4 on March 31. We had previously only owned Acuras and Hondas but were ready for a change. Our A4 came with the optional premium package and 17' wheels. I strongly recommend the premium package, as the leather seats are contoured to hold you snugly; You'll appreciate it because this car rocks! I am 6' 2' tall and am able to fit comfortably by lowering the drivers seat. Interior appointments are what Audi is known for and this car does not disappoint. All controls are logically organized and displayed and easy to use. Acceleration is unbelievably quick, fully responsive off the line and the CVT cranks it up a notch at higher speeds. We also test drove the 3.2 but felt the 2.0 turbo offered a better blend of performance and fuel economy. Handling and braking are excellent and overall road feel is very good. I will say the car seems more stable and fun to drive at highway speeds (i.e., 70 MPH) and should be a good candidate for long road trips. I recommend the standard stereo system as the optional Bose upgrade didn't seem to deliver substantially better sound. The exterior redesign gives the car an updated, contemporary look that we like very much. All scheduled maintenance is covered for the first 4 years/50,000 miles, a nice perk. Stylish, well made and fun to drive, I heartily recommend this vehicle.
Cons: center console restricts drivers right knee on longer rides
Advice: Consider ONLY 3.0 engine.Purchased CPO with 9k miles after driving BMW 3 series conv. for 3yrs. The 3.0 with quattro is the ONLY way to own this car. Performance in the 1.8 is cruddy. Build quality is excellent and performance is quite good with 3.0.
