2011 Acura TSX Overview

A number of changes to the new 2011 Acura TSX serve to bolster the vehicle's appeal in the entry-level luxury sedan market. In addition to cosmetic updates, the vehicle also improves fuel efficiency and adds a number of new available options. Learn what's new on the 2011 Acura TSX and review specs, features and mpgs.

What's New - 2011 Acura TSX

Acura introduces a revised sedan body style that incorporates a new grille, chin spoiler and front fascia. The four-cylinder model also receives new 17-inch wheels. Inside, the vehicle receives rear air conditioning vents and a number of insulation updates that reduce road noise. Leather seats are updated with contrast color stitching. A new Technology Package includes a more advanced navigation system, 60-gigabyte hard drive and Song By Voice (SBV) user interface.

While the 2011 TSX maintains the same engine options as last year, these powerplants have been retuned to improve fuel efficiency. An alternative Acura TSX Sport Wagon body style is also new for the year.

2011 Acura TSX Styling

The Acura TSX shares several basic styling components with the Honda Accord. As such, the vehicle exudes much of the same reserved, yet attractive, exterior design as its more affordable cousin. However, a few changes help give the TSX a sportier look that complements the vehicle's sport sedan status.

Inside, the vehicle comes standard with a healthy list of comfort and convenience features. Overall quality is also above average for the entry-level luxury class. Front seats should offer good comfort for passengers of all shapes and sizes. Rear seats, on the other hand, may be a bit cramped for larger individuals. The 12.6 cubic feet of trunk space is a bit on the small side for the class.

2011 Acura TSX Performance

The base engine for the Acura TSX is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder that outputs 201 horsepower. For a bit more oomph under the hood, a 3.5-liter V6 is available that improves output to 280 horsepower. However, be aware that the V6 only comes with an automatic transmission.

For 2011, Acura promises that both engines will return an additional one mpg in both city and highway driving. This would boost the four-cylinder to 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. Similarly, the V6 should jump to 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. These figures would place the TSX ahead of much of the competition in terms of fuel efficiency.

2011 Acura TSX Safety

Standard features for the Acura TSX include antilock brakes, six airbags, brake assist, stability control and traction control. The vehicle has yet to be tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). However, the very similar 2010 model earned a best-possible rating of "Good" in frontal and side impact crash tests.

2011 Acura TSX Prices and Features

The 2011 Acura TSX comes with a base price of $29,610 ($300 increase over last year). Base models come well equipped with such features as dual-zone automatic climate control, leather seats, sunroof, power front seats, Bluetooth, seven-speaker stereo, satellite radio, auxiliary input, CD player and USB port.
