Cons: no armrest
Advice: Different car have different problem, research it before making your final decision.I have a RSX-S 03. The RSX is a very fun to drive car. Very precise handling, very nice interior with excellent performance but buyer should be aware of this issue!!!!!! There is a grinding problem with the transmission (2nd gear and 3rd gear). I know a lot of people experience with this issue. And if you are a serious buyer; check out the message board from clubrsx.com before making the purchase. Even the problem should be under warranty; I have heard a lot of dealers are not fixing it (very bad service). Personally, I'm going through it the dealer in Montclair, NJ. So far, they never returned my phone call and I have been push around from service rep to service manager. This problem still exists on the 05 model. Buyer should be aware!!!! The problem can start anytime and Acura have not taken any action to correct the problem yet. There is a TBS out but is up to the dealer to honor it. And guess what, most dealer don’t give a damn about it. Buy at your own risk and if you are luck, you may not see the problem. =) search google regarding rsx grinding These are some useful site regarding this issue. http://rsx.clubrsx.com/bulletins/tr...zerbulletin.pdf
Pros: Bose system
Cons: gas and tire cost
Advice: Test one and you'll love it.i just got this rsx-s 2005. wow im surpised with it. thought that a 4 banger would be kinda lame vs a v6. i was wrong. the standerd options on this type s is insane for its price range. o by the way its says 210hp BUT when you get the rpms up to 7000's you acutaly have around 240hp froma v4. thats just sick. one downside i have to say.. 309 bucks a peice for the tires... thats a big hurting but eh you pay what you get. i love this car. got im from carmax for 20988 with only 1.5k miles on it. GET one there totaly off the charts.
Pros: Bucket Seat
Cons: exterior noise
Advice: It's a much better buy than other cars in its class. Honda Accord is also a great car.Just bought the base model of RSX. I wasn't up for the leather seats and I am a very middle of the road type of driver. I like the RSX base model because it saves on gas and seems to do everything I needed it to do. I didn't think I need climate control, but liked it very much. I didn't think I would care for automatic shifts, but like that very much also. The bucket seats are excellent, but I find it to be in the way if I ever want to reach behind the passenger seat to pick up a map or even to reach over to grab the passenger seat to back up the car. There's some visual impairment involve with the hatchback. I find plenty of blind spots and need to get use to the fact that I can't see as well behind me. It's a terrific car.. the road seems noisier than my BMW. It's also bumpier in the city.
Pros: Love the performance and all the standard features!
Cons: The factory sound system is pretty weak
Advice: Just check out how much it costs to add on what's standard on the acura in other cars.I can't drive stick, but the acura automatics come with an automatic transmission that you can use as a manual when you want, it's so easy, no clutch needed and you can't hurt the transmission with bad shifting, it won't let you. Love the car! For $21,000 i got a little sports car with leather, a sunroof, an added on spoiler, and automatic transmission. Nothing in the price range can compete with the standard options and reliability of the acura rsx.
Pros: The way it fits me like a glove.
Cons: Having to pay $50 to get the SRS light reset.
Advice: It's an Acura - it loves to rev...Buy one!I didn't worry with a test drive. I owned two previous Acuras (an Integra and a CL) and I knew what I was buying. It's been almost four years and I still get EXCITED every time I get behind the wheel. It corners like it's on rails and for a 4-cyl, has amazing get-up and go! The black with the blue metal-flake paint is gorgeous. A perfect car! Oh, and don't stress when your V-rated high performance Michelins wear out. I replaced mine with Toyo Proxes 4's and they have performed wonderfully. Great stickiness and great on wet roads.
Advice: BUY IT, FOR CHRIST SAKE, BUY IT! MOST FUN CAR EVER!THIS CAR RULES!
Pros: The color (Vivid Blue) and the High Redline (8,000 R's). Leather Buckets and No wind noise with the Moonroof open
Cons: The factory Bose premium deck. Replaced deck and the factory speakers rock!
Advice: Test drive one, then test drive every other vehicle in its class, then come back and apologize like an ungrateful cheating boyfriend/girlfriend.I absolutely love my 2005 Acura RSX Type-S. Acura did some nice improvements for the 2005 model but you can read the professional review for those specs. I just wanted to say that out of 11 cars in the sport-coupe/sedan class that I test drove, even the base model RSX whooped them all. Personally, I am a big fan of consumer reviews and will not buy something unless it has atleast a 90% approval rating. I had read reviews on the other cars I was considering and every single one of them had a less than 90% satisfactory record. Heres my advice to you - Read reviews before buying... or just take my advice and purchase the RSX-S, you wont be sorry. And Guys, Its a definate chick magnet. Especially if you live in an area like I do where this brand of car is not readily available to the immediate demographic consumer (that is young adults age 20-29). I also think very highly of Acura's build quality and am sure that it will be a company I stick with as I get older. I cant wait to purchase the TSX when I'm 27 and the RL when Im 35. For now, the RSX is my dream date... and it could be yours too... if youre into that kind of thing. PS This website is not letting me list all of the cars I test drove so here they are: 2004 Acura RSX 4cyl iVTECH 5spd, 2005 Acura RSX-S 4cyl iVTECH 6spd, 2005 Honda Accord V6 Auto, 2005 Honda Civic 4cyl Auto, 2005 Honda Civic V6 Auto, 2005 Honda Civic Si, 2005 Mazda 3 4cyl Auto, 2005 Mazda 6 4cyl and V6 Auto, 2004 Toyota Camry Solara V6 Auto, 2005 Toyota Camry Solara 4cyl VVT Auto, 2000 Toyota Avalon V6 Auto. Also, if you want performance, this 4cyl iVTECH will whoop all the V6's in its horsepower range (190-230).
