    2003 Acura MDX - Base

    Pros: comfort and size

    Cons: LOW gas mileage!

Advice: Beware of the low gas mileage

I love everything about this car: the seating, the comfort, not too big, easy to drive, the 4wd, rear camera, etc. BUT THE MILEAGE IS HORRIBLE!! paying almost $5 bucks a gallon, and I get 13.4 mpg (Sticker says 17-23). Terrible. And the trip computer is inaccurate, telling me I get much more than I do. BIG disappointment. Now we're garaging it (it's fully paid for), taking it out for long trips, and buying a Bug to get around town.

    2003 Acura MDX - w/Touring/Navigation

    Pros: Ride and handling

Cons: Somewhat feeble 4 wheel drive system. 4 wheel lock is useless above 18 mph

Advice: Compare carefully if this if you do a lot of snow country driving

Sorry Acura, but the 4 wheel drive system is somewhat anemic compared to other comparable vehicles. Think twice if you do a lot of winter driving. I found that the autotrac system is slow to respond and does not give the driver a sense of confidence that conventional 4wheel drive systems have. I enjoy the reliability and handling and comfort of city driving, but if you head for the hills or live in snow country this might not be your first choice. One last beef is the relatively poor gas mileage for an 'efficient' 6 cylinder.

    2003 Acura MDX - Base

    Pros: overall excellence

Cons: Gas Mileage... city says 17 but I get 12-15 constantly

Advice: don't believe the gas mileage sticker

Drives very well, very versatile love the 7 seating, which was unique in 2003 After 2.5 years I love the car and hate the gas mileage. Want to trade it in but its lost almost half the value already beware

    2003 Acura MDX - w/Touring/Navigation

Pros: Too many to choose from

Cons: The accessability to the third row seating

Advice: Before test driving the MDX, test drive the other SUVs and compare the difference.

The MDX is the one SUV that you should consider to buy. The acceleration is great. Very smooth riding SUV, cannot tell that the transmission is switching gears. Has a very quiet engine. It's cheaper than the Lexus, BMW, and Mercedes and MDX has more features. Has enough room to accommodate 7 passengers and I like the versatility of 50/50 fold third row seating. Very efficient gas mileage. Very sporty SUV. It's $7000 more than the Honda Pilot, but it is worth it.

    Pros: Engine power and quality

Cons: Interior looking and fixed second row

Advice: You should consider and test drive this car

The speed up is much faster than Volvo XC90. More enjoyable and fun to drive MDX. Aslo MDX has 7 seats other than Benz ML350 and BMW X5

    2003 Acura MDX - w/Touring/Navigation

    Pros: Navigation system

Cons: lack of illuminated controls on the steering wheel.

Advice: We considered and rejected the new Volvo in selecting this vehicle. See the Consumers Union survey in September 2003.

We purchased the MDX from Pohanka Acura (Fairfax, Va.)in September and could not be more pleased. The only complaints are small ones such as awkwadly placed cup holders, non illuminated controls on the steering wheel, lack of A/C controls on the steering wheel, etc. But we enjoy this vehicle very much. It has gotten 25 MPG on InterState driving and generally gets about 20 with a mix of local and open road driving. The engine has more than enough power. The handling is easy. My wife, who tends to be intemidated by new things rapidly felt at home, especially good, since I went on travel immediately after taking delivery. It is now 'her's.' It does not have the comfort or luggage capacity of our Town Cars, but it is much better in foul weather and that is what we wanted for some long trips. We highly recommend the car and the dealer.

    2003 Acura MDX - w/Touring/Navigation

Pros: Preset memory for two driving positions & sound system

    Cons: nothing to complain about

Advice: If you're in the market, check one of these out.

Nice comfortable ride, room for 7, all the creature comforts of home, only on the road. To quote Ferris Bueller, 'If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.'
