2006 Acura RSX - Type S (M6)
Pros: Overall quality and reliability
Cons: No armrest in the middle
Advice: You'll fall in love like I did, but ya gotta get the manual transmission to truly appreciate this car.I love my new 2006 Acura Type-S. I previously owned a '94 Integra, kept her for NINE years. Acura equals quality and reliability. With my 2006, I feel like I've come home once again, to an old, dear friend with a reincarnated body. I enjoy the manual transmission, the smooth shifting, the revving of the engine, and the leather seats. Yes, this car and I are very happy together. We plan to be together for many years to come!
2005 Acura RSX - Base w/Leather (A5)
Pros: All of the seat-comfort adjusters.
Cons: The lack of adult head room in the rear passenger seats.
Advice: Don't let falling in love with the vehicle cloud your judgement of its true worth when you go to buy it from a crafty dealer.I loved the sport-tuned suspension and handling. It's extremely fun to drive, economical, won't break the piggy bank when it comes to insuring it with collision, and it looks sporty and yet is subtle enough to be driven by the most sophisticated lady with a taste for sport and adventure on her way up the corporate ladder. I loved the cargo room of the trunk and the interior of the car was comfortable and stylish.
2005 Acura RSX - Base (M5)
Cons: Lack of REAL power
Advice: If you are over 6 feet tallI purchased the a 2005 RSX Premium (no leather) as a demo w/ approx 11km on it. A big factor in buying this car was reputation. I learned that reputation and reality are few and far between. I enjoy the fact that I drive a higher end vehicle, however I cannot help but feel that this is just a fancy civic. The power is not what I was looking for. There is not nearly enough torque in this car to make it feel as fast as it should. I owned a Cav Z24 that felt twice as fast. There is the most annoying grind that occurs between the 1st and 2nd gear tha apparently is normal for this car. I am 6'3 and if I use correct posture, my head is touching the sunroof. I love the climate control and the cold air conditioning. This car and the Type-S hold nothing against the Mustang GT. I am not too sure why I bought this car. Very expensive lesson. The car performs well for the kind of car it is. If you like to rev really high, then you may like it. The interior quality in the car is amazing and very classy. If it was not for all the ice and snow in Canada, i would have bought a Mustang GT in a second. The Mustang has substance compared to the weak RSX.
2006 Acura RSX - Base w/Leather (M5)
Pros: Interior leather.
Cons: You feel every bump in the road
Advice: None. Need to do your own research and test drive. Prices seem to vary a lot, so check on that.Great test drive. Handles well. Great interior look and feel to the car.
2006 Acura RSX - Type S (M6)
Pros: The sound it makes when you rev it high
Cons: no power seats
Advice: Buy it, its the best value for the moneyWhen I first drove this car I was very impressed with the handling, breaking, quality and looks; it wasn't until I broke it in and started to rev the engine that I was truly blown away!! I had a 2004 Accord Coupe V6 and this car blows it away! It is a BLAST to drive and gets lots of looks!
2005 Acura TSX - (M6)
Pros: Standard features especially heated seats!
Cons: No full size spare.
Advice: Test drive both the 6-speed and the 5-AT see which fits your style.I was considering the Audi A4 as well, test drove it many times. The night before I was going to buy the A4 I was online and decided to look one more time at my options and I came across the TSX. As I was driving to the Audi dealership I decided to stop off at Flatirons Acura of Boulder. Needless to say I test drove it and bought it that day and have never looked back. The reliability factor of the A4 and the standard features on the TSX made my decision easier. Flatirons Acura is a First class dealership as well, highly recommended.
2004 Acura TSX - (A5)
Pros: In-dash 6 disc CD changer
Cons: Heated front seats (I live in Florida, so it's rarely needed)
Advice: Just enjoy it and keep up with the maintenance scheduleI bought the car with 149 miles on it in April of 2004. Now, a year and a half later it has 53,000 miles on it. So far, it's been extremely reliable, comfortable, and economical. It's quiet, quick enough to make driving fun and handles great. There has not been any repairs needed. The stereo works well, the power equipment works like new. The leather seats are in like new shape. I've driven it to California and back to Florida last year. This year, we drove it all through New England and made close to 30 mpg on the highway. Highly recommended!
